Argentina - Day 1 let’s add another country
Sometimes when you travel things don’t go as planned. Our flight from Reagan was majorly delayed, something about weather and cleaning of planes. The 6:57pm departure from Reagan turned into 8:45pm, which meant we missed our connection to Buenos Aires. So they rerouted us to Lima, Peru for a 11:55pm departure from Atlanta. We arrived in Atlanta but they couldn’t get a gate, we didn’t get off the plane until like 11:37pm.
If you know anything about the Atlanta airport, we landed in A1 and had to get to E14, which is far. AJ and I took off fast walking and running up escalators to get to the gate because according to the clock, they would have boarded already. Thankfully, that flight was also delayed. So we had a few minutes to collect ourselves before actual boarding began.
The positive of being on the flight to Lima was that it wasn’t full. So I got an entire row to myself to sleep! First class lay-flat on a basic ticket!!
With all of the flight changes, we will miss our biking adventure in Buenos Aires today. I hope to work some magic and change our departing schedule to accommodate a little biking around Buenos Aires, but it might be a stretch.
We landed in Buenos Aires tonight at 7pm, and will jump on another plane tomorrow to head to El Calafate where we meet up with the rest of the group for our hiking/touring adventure in the Patagonia region.
Let the games begin!
