Day 55 - Another perfect day

Day 55 - Kane to Galeton, PA - 66 miles - 2759 feet of elevation gain

If I could script riding weather these last two days would fit the bill. Low 60s in the morning to mid 70s by afternoon with blue skies and scattered clouds. These are the days made for riding long distances. The roads have also been great! A nice wide shoulder on most of the roads today.

Now that we are back to having some hills to climb, this also means we get some fantastic descents. Early in the ride we had a fun one! I was glad I had my arm warmers on, because the speed generated a nice chill!

We arrived at the hotel around 2:30pm and had some free time before dinner. We were told there was only one restaurant open in town. I was a little shocked by their high prices, and even more shocked that we were charged $11.25 for 3 pitchers of water. We order water at meal times to save money and this was the second time in two months that we’ve been charged, unknowingly, for water.

This was another place where we could have devotions by a fire. And near a creek so after our gathering some of the boys took to the river for rock throwing. We are making the most of our final days on the road.
