Day 54 - Sunny and 62

Day 54 - Corry to Kane, PA - 65 miles - 1850 feet of elevation gain

It was in the low 60s this morning and the fog was hanging over the fields, what a glorious morning to be on the bike. Being in PA we are back to the rolling hills, which is a big change from the “flat” we have ridden since eastern Montana. There is just something about being in the hills/mountains that I love. We have such a diverse country with terrain to suit just about anyone’s fancy. Not many countries have such diversity for their citizens.

Surprisingly, given the PA road reputation, the roads were fairly decent today. We hit small towns, busier roads, and more rural roads. Cheers and beeps from different cars we passed and in the town of Kane there were many people out working on houses that yelled as we passed. Even the roofers yelled down from on high, we are just glad there weren’t any wayward shingles as they threw a wave.

We lunched behind a gas station, which happened to have a picnic table for the guys. After lunch we only had 23 miles to the hotel. It was nice to arrive mid-afternoon at the hotel and have some time get some things done before dinner and devotions. We celebrated a birthday at dinner and everyone got to get a dessert so DeNise wasn’t partying alone. This hotel has a back area fenced off with a fire ring and seating. So we had devotions by the fire and the adults stayed a little longer to enjoy the flames as the sky turned dark.

Tomorrow is another 65 mile day heading east. Soon we will turn south to make our way to Delaware.
