Day 10 - 95 miles 🤗

Day 10 - Kamiah, ID to Lochsa Lodge - 95 miles - 2897 ft of elevation gain

After a tire change, a picture in front of the hotel sign for the manager, and water bottle filling we were on the road. Our path led us up a gradual climb through the river valley, following two rivers: Clearwater River and Lochsa River. It was beautiful and felt much cooler than the actual 80+ degree weather.

It’s amazing how long 95 miles feels when the scenery, while beautiful, doesn’t change much. There was a section with some class 5 rapids where there were rafters and kayakers. We stopped and watched a few pass a rapid section (no flips or anything dramatic).

Everyone finished this long day and could still walk, so we loaded up in the van and went to find some hot springs to soak our legs in. It was back down the mountain 10 miles and a 1.5 mile hike back to the hot spring. It felt good to soak, and was a surprisingly popular place. So we completed our own triathlon, 95-mile bike, 3-mile hike, .5 hr soak!

Back at the Lodge we had dinner, devotions, and the boys took off for bed. It was a long and hard day, and I don’t think anyone needed convincing that sleep was needed. Tomorrow we eat breakfast at 7am and head up the rest of Lolo Pass and then down to Missoula and a new time zone.
