Day 4 - It’s all downhill

Day 4 - White Pass to Yakima, WA - 55 miles - 131 ft of elevation gain

I peeked outside this morning and thought the rain had passed. I was wrong! By the time we were ready to start biking the rain started back up and continued for most of our descent over the White Pass.

At first the boys talked about seeing how fast and far they could go without pedaling. This approach was too slow for me, so I passed them and started the descent. It didn’t take long until several of them abandoned the no pedaling idea and passed me. Although it was raining, the descent was amazing, with just enough curves to make it fun and not dangerous. It was an all downhill day, but not all at a negative slope.

We left the rainy part of Washington at the mountain pass and entered more arid terrain. So by the time we were at our hotel for the night it was approaching 80 degrees (and only in the high 40s at the condos).

We finished our ride with a picnic lunch near the hotel and now have some free time for swimming. Later we are going on a field trip to Walmart and another one to Cabela’s. Fun times ahead!
