Day 18 - Exploring Yellowstone

Day 18 - Driving through Yellowstone

As I mentioned yesterday, we decided to drive into the park instead of biking in. It was a good decision, because even at 6:50am there was a line to get into the park. We motored to Old Faithful first and waited for the geyser activity. Then we wandered around the area looking at the other geysers, the hotel, the visitors center, and gift shop.

Then I dropped the group off at the Grand Prismatic and went and found parking. I saw a glimpse of the area, but people were moving too slow for me to get in more viewing before the group finished. We then jumped back in the van and drove over to the canyon area. First stopping at a waterfall where the boys made my spidey senses go off and I had to walk away and let the men deal with the situation. I do not like heights or people on the edges. The canyon was a fast moving river with a nice waterfall.

After a full day in the park we went back to the hotel where I caught a 1/2 hr nap before duty called for making dinner plans. We got 5 lbs of brisket and some Mac and cheese and ate in a park. Followed by devotions and an early night for the boys to go play some frisbee or walk around town.

Tomorrow is another non-biking day as we make our way through the park to Gardiner, MT. We hope to see more animals, because we just saw a handful of bison, a chipmunk, ducks, a deer, and mosquitoes.
